But first a big announcment!!!:
*The pacifier is gone!!! She did great. No problems at all getting rid of it. We just stopped one day. I just felt like not giving it to her anymore and told her when she asked for it "no you're a big girl" and she didn't ask for it a second time. She had only been using it at nap or bed time (and sometimes in the car, if daddy was driving) which isn't so bad but she obviously didn't need it. She slept just fine. For three nights she cried for like 3 seconds after 5 minutes of being in bed happy but Josh just went up and sang a song to her and she was fine and went to sleep for the rest of the night.
Now, I'll be honest we might have to break it out in emergencies like when we are somewhere where crying is not an option but we don't anticipate using it for anything else. She doesn't even sleep with it or anything!!!! Yaaaay! Glad to be done with that yukky thing. It was starting to look weird on such a big kid.
So here is what she is saying, doing and enjoying...
About Kaylee:
*When you sneeze she says "Blesh you"
*She says "I lobe you (your name)"
*When she gets on her bike she says "Bye guys. C-ya. Thank you. Welcome. Lobe you. Bye" all in a row.
*She loves Fancy Nancy. She always wants to read her Fancy Nancy books. She calls her Nancy, Nancy though. And she thinks that my Aunt Nancy is called "Nancy, Nancy" too. Haha
*Kaylee loves to wear jewelry. She has bangals that she enjoys wearing a lot and she loooooves her necklaces that daddy brought for her that were grandma Kovalik's (Josh's grandmother) and the ones she got from Grammy last time we visited on the 4th.
*Kaylee says, "Iii, Yiii, Yiii" a lot. She says it when something is difficult. She says, "Hurts. Hurts." as she touches the area she just hurt.
*Kaylee loves water. She enjoys washing her hands. Playing in her mini pool. Bath time. Splashing around in her best neighbor friend, Lydia's sprinkler.
*Every time we are getting close to home she says, "Almost home" Then when we drive past the pond she says, "See the ducks mama. see?" then "There they are". Then she proceeds to call every child out playing in the neighborhood (and every adult for some reason) "Lydia". She says, "Hi Lydia. Hi!" or "There's Lydia. There she is."
*We are working on teaching her to say "no thank you" instead of "no". If we tell her to say it then she will but she still struggles doing it on her own. She likes to grunt and shout no at us.
*She is in loooove with Yo Gabba Gabba (she calls it "Yo Gabby Gabby"). She enjoys singing one of the songs and dancing to it. It goes like this: "Run, run, run. It's fun, fun, fun. Run, run, run. It's fun, fun, fun. Run in a circle now, run in a circle. Run in a circle now, run in a circle. Now everybody freeze (she says freeesh)" and it's so funny because she actually puts her arms out and freezes in place. haha. She is hilarious. If you ever get a chance you should check out this weird show On Demand. It's kind of trippy but Kaylee really enjoys it.
*We were walking around the pond in our neighborhood the other day and tried to feed the ducks and geese but they were scared. Only a few came and ate a bite or two. But then when we were walking around the pond there was duck poop everywhere and I just said, "Ewww, poop" and Kaylee started to die laughing. So I said it again and she just laughed and laughed and laughed the entire way around the pond. It made Josh and I laugh just watching her laugh. We love to get her laughing. Sweetest thing ever.
*When we walk up and down the stairs she tells me "Careful mama" and I've heard her tell Jordan too, "Careful Jordan". Haha
*This morning I went to get her out of bed and I had a longer tank top on and she pointed and said, "got a pretty dress" Then I asked her if she wanted to go get daddy and she said, "Noooo daddy's at work" Haha. Then we went over to the room and she climbed into bed with us and as she tickled Josh she said, "Tickle, tickle, tickle." She likes to tickle people randomly. haha.
*She knows what pink, blue and green are and will tell you that. She loooves the color blue. She is always talking about it. She enjoys picking fruit and veggies off of the plant. She mostly loves blueberries and she knows to only pick the blue ones. She picked our first tomato the other week and then bit right into it like an apple. She actually took two or even three bites before realizing she didn't like it then she tried to give it to me and then to Jordan.
*She knows her shapes-triangle, oval, square, circle, rectangle, diamond and star. She's really good at doing puzzles too.
*When you ask her, "How are you?" She says, "Good". Haha. This surprised me the other day when I just asked her randomly in the car and she said "good" I laughed so hard cause I was just so shocked and it was like I had this little person in the back seat.
*Kaylee just walked into the living room with a blanket over her head like Mary and came over and showed me and said to Jordan sitting next to me, "Jordan, look, princess." Haha... She is starting to really like princesses. The other day we went to Dutch Wonderland and she saw the princess and wanted to follow her. She wouldn't let me take a picture of her with the princess but she loved just staring and following her.
*She can identify almost all objects in her books. She knows all her animals and can say what sound they make.
*Her cousin Audrey is her very best friend. I wish we could get them together more than we do. She just looooves her. She is always talking about her and when we head down the highway toward Lancaster Kaylee says, "Audrey's house. Audrey's house. Audrey, Audrey, Audrey house"
*I forget if I told you all this before but when she goes to sleep she says goodbye to the TV.
*When we are winding down and it's time to move onto something else she says, "1 time. 1 time." to do it just one more time. Also, if she is doing something we think is cool she will tell us that it is our turn and makes us both take turns doing it ("Mama's turn" "Daddy's turn")
*The other day I saw that Kaylee's toe nails needed painted so I got the nail polish and opened it while she was sitting watching a video on the computer. When she saw this she held out her hand with her fingernails pointed to me like, here you go paint my fingernails. Haha. Then when I was done she told me it was my turn so I had to paint my finger nails too.
*She still loves her dog Jordan. He is her best bud here at home. She loves to lay her head on him and give him kisses and when he licks her she says "Ewww Jordan licks". She likes to call him a bad dog and tell him to be nice.
*Kaylee continues to try and sing Row Row Row Your Boat. When you ask her what she wants to sing she always says, "Row, Row?" and I sing it and then ask her to sing it. This is how she sings it:
"Row, Row, Row, Row, Row
uh uh buh
GentE uh uh
MERRRR, MERR, MERR, MERRR, MERR
luh uh uh duh
yaaaay"
hahaha. We have some work to do. The merrily part is my favorite because she puts so much gusto into it. haha
*Kaylee covers up Jordan's eyes and plays peek-a-boo with him. Fortunately, Jordan tolerates it. haha. Such a good dog!
*She can count from 1-13 no problem. It's amazing to me.
*She knows her ABC's but gets the groups of letters mixed up. Most of the time she sings two different versions:
"ABCDEFFdubbaXYZ now know ABC nex won sing iii meeee"
or
"QRSTUV dubbaXYZ...."and so on...
*The other day my mom was watching both Audrey and Kaylee. Kaylee has been seeing Audrey's bday presents there all wrapped up in Elmo wrapping paper in my parents bedroom for weeks and my mom has taught Kaylee that they are Audrey's. Well, my mom was on the phone (or something) and the girls were just playing. Then my mom realized it was quiet and she went back to her room to find the girls and they were back there opening Audrey's presents. Kaylee had taken her back there and showed her and probably told her they were for her to open. It seems like Kaylee is the leader when it comes to misbehaving (hmmm sounds familiar).
This reminds me of a story from when I was little. When I was in 4th or 5th grade we had a substitute teacher and of course I was acting like the bully of the class acts when a sub comes to teach. I was really getting other kids to act up with me when the sub, Mrs. Brewer, came to me and said, "Kendy, I can see that you are a leader. I think that if you start behaving then all the other kids will too. Can you do that?" And it worked. haha... This substitute teacher is now the principal of my old elementary school and remembers this exact story. It was her first time substitute teaching!
Back to Kaylee...
It is just so fun right now because Kaylee totally can hold a conversation with you. Our little baby is growing up so so fast. She amazes us constantly with the ways she grows and changes into a little girl. She says stuff that shocks us sometimes. It's just hilarious what she comes up with. I am sure as she gets older it's only going to get funnier and possibly more embarrassing... The other day Kaylee and I were at the grocery store in the check out line. I was unloading the cart so Kaylee was facing the people shopping when she finished her gummies and just had the wrapper left. She said, "Trash!" Then she looked at a man passing and just kept yelling "Trash! Trash! Trash!" at him. I'm sure he was wondering what I had taught my child to call people!!!
Yikes!
Well... I have to get this kiddo down for her morning nap now! Oh that is another cool thing she is now taking two naps. A morning and afternoon and she still goes down around 7pm or so. She is going backwards with this since she used to barely take one nap!
I hope that you have enjoyed our little mini stories about Kaylee! I wish I could remember them all. She says and does some pretty funny things!
Love you all! Feel free to comment or tell me the silly things your kids (or dogs) are doing right now! I love hearing things like that!!!

Sounds like Mia and Kaylee are on the same track with what they are learning! So fun, I love this age... and it just keeps getting better and better as they get older. I had to do an update with what Mia is saying as well.
congrats on the pacifier - wow! I'm not sure we'll be that lucky, but we'll see. hope so. mia doesn't use it during the day at all, just naps and bed. I'm not too stressed about it for those things though... I know she won't walk down the aisle with it :)
Mia has enjoyed Grandma K's beads as well... so special that they have those :)
And yes, Yo Gabba Gabba IS funny! The Jack Black episode was hilarious. I needed a break from Yo Gabba though after 10+ times of watching it. Nolan loves it.
Can't wait to see her and you guys again! xoxo
