tugger the dog

Well as I suspected, my blog-upkeep abilities have not been so successful. Props to those of you that do a daily post on your blog! I suppose I can now add "blogging" to my list of "Things That I Should Do Every Day But Don't". Other things on this list: working out, making the bed, getting outside for a little bit, not being on the computer for 8+ hours...

Some of you know my parents dog, Tugger. For those of you that don't, he is a springer spaniel w/ social anxiety disorder, bad breath, and a big heart. The reason I am mentioning Tugger is because my parents are planning to give him away to a springer spaniel adoption agency sometime in the near future. Overall he is a great dog, but he seems to be a little overly possessive at times and doesn't like to be told what to do (but then again, who does, right?!). However, this does not bode well when there is a houseful of grandkids running (or crawling) around during the holidays. I know this was a tough decision for my parents to send him off - but at least he should be going to a family that specifically wants to own a springer spaniel (God help them). I was actually supposed to serve as the dog-courier today to drive him out to his doggie foster parents, but apparently some of the members of their family were in an accident this morning :( While this is obviously not a good thing for them, it at least provides my parents w/ more quality time w/ good old tugger before he parts ways...

On a personal athletic note, my rec hockey team won the league championship by default last night. Apparently the other team had something better going on at the time and couldn't make it. While I hate cheap wins (and probably could have used the exercise), I am willing to accept this as a sign that we deserved to win regardless.

On another athletic note, I'm happy to say that my indoor soccer team (Draggin' Ace), came away w/ a victory last night against a pretty worthy foe. Final score: 5-2. Goals for Josh: 1. This goal makes up for the one that I shanked last week on a penalty kick w/ 27 seconds left in a tied game. This still haunts me...

Gingerbread house competition tonight w/ friends! Should be a good time! As an example of our craftiness, here is a house that was constructed in years past. Not too shabby if I must say. Notice the use of blue-raspberry fruit roll-ups for the ocean! Very top notch stuff...

Josh out.
