Little Birdy's Ear

Kaylee's cold has been worsening even after her doctor telling us at her 4 month appointment that it should have gotten worse by then if it was going to get worse at all. She has started wheezing and on Friday night at my parents my dad's ridiculous Christmas gift that he asked for (which I totally made fun of but now take it back), a stethoscope came in handy. He broke that thing out and I was able to have a listen and really realized how terrible it was. I immediately called the doctors and was able to get in this morning. There we found out that Kaylee actually has an ear infection in her right ear. This is something that must have just started and it was not directly related to her last cold. This was something fairly new since she showed no signs of a an ear infection at her other appointment. uggg! Poor little Bird!
I was so jealous of the doctor though... she had this tiny q-tip on the end of this like 6 inch metal stick that she used to see if she could remove some of the build-up. You all know how I looooove to pick at not only Kaylee but Josh and really anyone else that will let me pick at them. I was dying to take that metal q-tip thing and have a go at it cause she only was able to access a little of the yukkers but she put Kaylee on Amoxacillon (I made up that spelling!)... or like Josh calls it: "The good pink stuff" Josh loves the taste of that stuff... weirdo! haha! I have to admit though, it does smell pretty good! Kaylee doesn't seem to mind the taste either.
So anyway... for those of you that were worried about us not getting another opinion about her cold can rest assured she is getting good meds that will hopefully kick this thing before her check up appointment we made today for the 26th. At that appointment they will take another look at her ears and we will go from there. The doctor said that she is probably pretty aggravated by sounds since she cannot hear them very well. That could be the reason why she is never fussy at home but when we are around groups of people she gets irritable. I don't know... I just feel like everyone thinks she is a fussy baby but we always say how good she is. You all must think we are either crazy or lying! Haha! I promise she really is a happy baby here at home with us!
