This past Sunday, Aunt Jan and Pa had us over for a delicious lunch. Jan made us some ham loaf, peas, some other healthy things and my favorite...buttered noodles... but not just any butter... it was browned butter! Oh, and homemade applesauce... it's like soup it's so smooth and deeeelish! I love that stuff! So anyway...We decided to take this opportunity to introduce Kaylee to Ginger, Kenny's miniture horse (see below).
Grandpa Zeager is introducing her to the cows above. And below Kaylee looks nervous standing near the bull. Looks like she's thinking, "You're going to save me if this thing comes charging. Right Daddy?" Haha!
An update on Kaylee's development... she recently has been holding on to her bottle when feeding and holding if for a good few seconds but then she just kind of throws it up over her head because she gets so excited. She is doing really well with eating her rice cereal. Her daddy successfully fed her tonight although just two nights ago he had quite a time while I was at the dentist. Although the rice cereal is going well for her the Soy milk is not going as well. I think that she probably is allergic to that as well as dairy. I have found that she spits up a ton with the soy milk and so have her teachers at daycare. So, I think that we will have to stick with the gentle ease formula which is dairy based but seems to work fine for her. She rarely has any spit up from that but it is soooo expensive, even more so than the soy. Yikes!
Good news though... and I recommend this to anyone who has a child with eczema and does not want to spend 5 million dollars for that prescription stuff... I have been using this brand new stuff called Triple Paste Cream. It is amazing! I absolutely love the Triple Paste Diaper Rash Ointment it works amazingly and I recommend that to all my children's parents at work. But, seriously this cream is like a miracle in a bottle. I know that everyone has suggested the Aquaphor and we have been using that but it just doesn't do it. I don't know if Kaylee's is just worse than others but it is working sooo well! She is starting to actually feel like a baby should! Yaaaay! Also, my boss at work has just started using it on her son who has pretty severe eczema at the age of 3 and she said he is smoother than he has ever been! She told him after his bath the other night, "We have to let Ms. Kendy feel your legs tomorrow." And he was like, "Whaat?" Haha! I stand by this stuff like... I don't even know... something that stands by something else really well... haha! Basically it rocks! I feel like writing a letter to the company to thank them! Maybe I could like be in a testimonial commercial or something!
So... about our "Little Lady Luck"... Josh had poker night on Saturday night with the guys and left the poker chip and card holder thing out. Meanwhile, Kaylee has recently been starting to reach for things a little. The other night I was watching Kaylee while she was sitting in her Bumbo chair on the dining room table. She then proceeded to almost flip out of her chair because she was trying so hard to reach with both hands for her daddy's poker chips. This is the first time I have seen Kaylee reach so hard and intently for something and of all things, poker chips. I then thought it would be a good idea to put her on the floor on her back and put the poker chip holder thing next to her to try to encourage her to roll over... no such luck... however maybe this is a sign that someday Kaylee will win us a bunch of money... we will have to take her to Atlantic city this summer and see what she's got! Sveta (my Russian assistant teacher that I talk about allll the time) said,(oh, don't forget to read this part with a Russian accent in mind) "Ewllll! You need to move that big headed baby to Vegas and win you some millions!" She is crazy!
Another fun thing that Kaylee is doing besides learning Texas Hold 'Em and BlackJack is starting to touch my face when I am holding her close, face to face. Also, she is grunting a lot. haha! It was so funny the other morning when Josh and I were trying to get a little extra sleep and she just wanted to be near us, so I brought her over to our bed and she just laid between us and kept grunting and grunting and holding it for long periods of time. Josh and I just kept looking at each other like what is wrong with our child... haha! It was cute though! Josh might not agree since it was like 5am and he was really hoping for that extra sleep but it was cute!
Kaylee is really working on sitting up now. No rolling over just yet but she is always pulling her head up when she is put in a bouncy seat. It looks like she is doing crunches! You go girl! Haha!
Tonight I got a chance, once Kaylee was down, to run out and have a little me time. Well, just an hour but I take what I can get! And I came to the conclusion that everyone needs a good plain white shirt. So, since I don't have one, I went to Target, tried on about 10 different white shirts (seriously, 10) and got myself a plain white shirt. Nothing fancy just a plain white shirt. I think it's nearly as important to have a good, plain, simple, white shirt as it is to have a good black dress. Oh, and I hit up the children's section and found a cute little shirt on mega sale for Kaylee for next year! I love this buying out of season thing! I like refuse to pay full price for ANYTHING! I think anyone who does must be just plain crazy!
Well, that's all for now... hope everyone is doing well! I love reading up on all your blogs! keep it up people! Hugs!
