Pics and 11 Month Update

We had a busy weekend and here are some photos from our fun times. Saturday afternoon there was a parade up in Marysville, my mom's hometown in celebration of the 100th year of the Fire Department. My grandfather, Robert Baker is the oldest living firefighter from that department and therefore was the Grand Marshal of the parade. We were all very proud of him as later he accepted a special plaque for his service. Even now he will turn on his monitor whenever he hears a siren so he can see if they might need help.

Above and below are pictures of Kaylee and her daddy playing with a straw (very sanitary) while waiting for the parade to start. We were sitting outback of my Aunt Nancy's house. It was really nice that the parade just so happened to be going by there.

I love this silly grin!

My pappy is in the passengers seat.

Kaylee and I watching as all the firetrucks and rescue vehicles go by. I said, "Cousin Nolan would love this!" He is a total boy, loves trucks! All the firemen kept waving and as much as Kaylee loves to wave she just stared. Finally she, without being prompted waved at the cottoncandy and blow-up animal cart people that walked by. Haha! They weren't even waving at her. Goofball!

Pappy in the driver's seat of the awesome car he got to ride in.

Daddy making Kaylee's arms dance. She laughed at that.

Here we are at the ceremony checking out some of the antique firetrucks that were in the parade. There were a ton of different local fire departments that came out to support the Marysville Department.

Sitting on a fire truck. Sadly, this is probably the best picture of all three of us taken in like several, several months.

Kaylee and Cousin Audrey on the firetruck. Try getting two one year olds to look at the same place with a smile at the same time. (aaaah! did I just write "one year old"... I can't believe my baby is almost 1)

Pappy proudly holding his plaque. It was really nice!

(great) Aunt Jody walking with Kaylee. We really have been trying to walk with Kaylee a lot. She is so funny when she grabs for your hands to help her. Sometimes she can walk with just one hand but she prefers two hands holding her. She is doing pretty well with her walking so far!

Kaylee reaching for her cousin. Audrey isn't so sure about Kay Bird.

Kaylee Maely in a firetruck-car thing at the park. After the parade and ceremony we went to my cousin Chelsea's 13th birthday bash at a local park. It was awesome to see my little cousin (not so little now) with all her friends running around. She has turned into such a beautiful young lady and it is really fun to watch her get more and more girly. She has always been a total sports girl but now is just hitting that age, I guess, where you start to get more into fashion and things like that. She is so cool!

Here is Chelsea with Kaylee on a dinosaur. Chelsea wanted lots of pictures taken with her new digital camera. She is going to start scrapbooking. Kaylee even got a chance to try to hit a pinata with a baseball bat. Kaylee just ended up hitting it with her hands though. She didn't want to hold the bat.

Cousin Audrey galloping away!

Here is the other rodeo princess with her farm hand (me). I think I told some of you that I was torn between the bird themed birthday party and the rodeo princess theme. I think I will have to save the rodeo princess theme for next year (we were even going to do pony rides on Kenny's miniature horse at Pa's farm). Hehe!

One of Kaylee's new favorite things to do and giggle about is throwing her bouncy ball. Cousin Audrey brought one with her so Kaylee and her had some fun with the balls.

Here Kaylee was passing the ball back and forth with Uncle Matt (he is to the right, Josh didn't get him in the pictures).

Cute!

The girls playing with crochet sticks and balls. Below Audrey is showing her softball skills she inheritted from her daddy. I love how they match. Totally not tried!

I love the picture above and below they are two of my new favorites! Below are pictures from our trip on Sunday morning to Lake Tobias a wildlife park that is just 30 minutes from our house. We have been there one other time with Kaylee this summer but our friends Steph, Brian and their little boy Aidan (Kaylee's future husband and current boyfriend) wanted us to join them and our other friends Jess and her little girl Anicka (sp?). It was a great time!

Below is also a favorite! She is getting so big!

Kaylee with the bears above and the ducks below. I think both Ani and Aiden got bit by a duck but were fine. Kaylee just watched and kept her distance.

Walking again above. Below is Kaylee at the Tiger cage.

Daddy and Kaylee getting ready for the safari ride. Below is a picture of us in one of those circle mirrors you use to see behind you.

Juraissic Park (sp?) anyone? Haha... All these birds came running toward us. They must have been hungry.

Here is a bus that was passing us out there. I took a picture of it so you could see what we were riding in.

Family pic. Kaylee wanted to stand almost the entire time.

Feeding elk down in the woods. Kaylee just wanted to pet them.

Here is a mother and baby llama. Isn't that baby just so so cute? I wanted to hug him!

Elk bull and Aidan feeding him.

These things are awesome! This is a zedong, zedonkey, donkbra, etc. It is a mixture of a zebra and a donkey. There is no reason for this cross breed except for looks. I think they are so cool. An interesting fact is that you cannot breed zedongs. They are infertile. Kind of sad.

Here's where Kaylee got a little bored. She took off her hat and started playing peek-a-boo with it.

This is right after she threw it on the nasty floor of the bus. She was so happy.

Above is what Kaylee does when she is playing peek-a-boo. She thinks you can't see her. Haha! She thinks she is hiding. Haha! This always makes me laugh so so much! We love our mornings with her because she loves to play this game with us. Sometimes she will just cover one eye and thinks we can't see her. She gets really excited playing this with us.

Awesome Longhorn. I love cows!

Here is a bison! These things are crazy huge!
Below is a Watussi (I made up that spelling!) otherwise known as a hippie cow. The calves of these are so so cute. They look like little teddybears just real fuzzy!

Above is Ani with some crackers to feed the horses.
Below is Kaylee on the bus, standing of course.

Here we are at the petting zoo. Our last stop with the very tired Kaylee Mae. She really enjoyed these goats though!

See that goat? He doesn't like me. Story to come below!

Here are all the friends together hanging out with a goat.

Aidan feeding a llama. He really started getting the hang of feeding the animals. It was so cute watching in walk around with crackers for the animals.

Cute little pony.

Remember that goat I asked you about? Yeah, here's the story. The reason Kaylee's face is so sad is because she just got done crying. I was standing taking pictures of Kaylee and Josh with petting the animals when out of nowhere that got I had showed you came charging out of the barn at me. Like he ran a good 20+ feet straight at me and finally stopped right as I screamed and he came right to my leg. Kaylee started to cry immediately as Josh yanked her up from the ground because he was scared she might get hurt. I mean this thing was coming at ME. There was no other animal really around me so he just didn't like me. I think because I pushed him away earlier to feed a cute little goat. I was so scared though! It was a flashback to my childhood when we had a goat named Bubba. He used to turn up his upper lip and charge at us. One year when it was snowy it was hard to get away from him I remember. I think we have it on video when all three of us girls were out on some ice and Bubba came out to play with us but he wasn't very nice. We had to take him to a special farm because it got to the point that we were afraid to go outside and my sisters told me that at the speical farm they were going to make him into glue.

Below is our last picture of our time at Lake Tobias. Kaylee liked this camel. She kept reaching for it but when it would come near she would quick pull her hand away. Haha! Such a huge animal. Can you believe people ride on them.

We had a ton of fun this past weekend!
Here are some things that Kaylee is doing right now.
She is working on walking while holding hands. She is constantly repeating words we say. She learns a new word or two a week. She is able to say the following words now (they aren't completely clear but you can tell what she is trying to say): Jordan, Dad, mama, apple, socks, thank you, yes (sounds like "yesh"), stop it (kind of hard to hear but we know she is saying it right after we say it to Jordan), boy, duck, cat, dog, fish, uh-oh and I am sure there are others I am totally forgetting. The other day it was so funny. I was feeding her, her morning bottle and she suddenly farted really loudly twice. She pulled out her bottle and said, "Uh-oh" then put it back in and went on her way drinking. I started laughing soooo hard! Haha! This kid is hilarious!

One thing though that I don't find so hilarious is this new PARENT ABUSE she has started. She has been hitting Josh and I when she doesn't get her way. It's mildly cute (we never let her know we think it is cute) but mostly upsetting because we just love her so much and we don't like the hitting. We try to say that there is no hitting and that hands are for hugging and we use nice hands but seriously try to explain that to a not even 1 year old. Yug! Any suggestions. We realize that this is her only way of communicating her feelings but we need to let her know we don't like it now rather than later when she has formed a habit. Right? Any suggestions on what to do? We change our tone and everything to try to let her know it's unacceptable but how much she gets we are unsure. I grab her hand and hold it too while I tell her I don't like it and all that.

Well, anyway... it is getting late. oh yeah... one more story.
When we were on the way to work the other day Kaylee suddenly let out a loud "UUUUH!" and smacked her one hand on her forehead. I said, "Kaylee, did you forget something?" (snickering inside) and she kept her hand on her head then moved it slowly down onto her face and held it there as if thinking, "I can't believe I forgot that!" I was laughing outloud in the car. People driving past must have thought I was losing it.

Also, the other day Josh said to Kaylee who was obviously doing what he was asking, "Are you pooping?" and she said, "Yesh" (her version of "yes").
Josh and I love this time with Kaylee. We keep thinking it can't get better and it just does everyday. We love chasing her around the house, making her giggle, taking her outside to play with the neighbor kids. It is so funny because they come to our door and ask if Kaylee can come out and play. They love Jordan and ask all kinds of questions about the both of them. When they found out he was a Chihuahua they were all excited because of that new movie coming out with the chihuahuas. I love our neighbor kids so much. They are hilarious. They say funny things that you just want to like write down. I remember being kind of bummed when we moved here and there were no kids around but then suddenly our neighbors with the cat moved away and two little girls moved in Quillen and Fallon.
They are such neat kids. They always offer to help me carry in things from the car and they like to leave flowers on our doorstep for us. Last winter they shoveled our snow for us. The youngest one Fallon who is about 5 or 6 drew a picture of Kaylee and wrote "I love your baby" when they first moved in. She will come right up to our front door and put her hands up on the glass and look in to see where we are. It makes me laugh. It is just so fun living in a neighborhood full of kids. One time I jumped rope with them. There are a total of 8 kids that come around to play in our front "yard"/sidewalk. Sometimes they are on scooters, skateboards, bikes or this random four wheeler for kids. Fallon likes to run into my bushes with it. Haha! Anyway... I don' t know why I am rambling. I guess I am just enjoying life right now. My job still is icky but I just love being home with my Babe and my baby and I have great friends and family and that is all that matters. So I can't complain too much right? Life is good!
