Apple Orchard

We went with our friends Neal and Lydia (and baby on the way) to Paulus Orchards near Sky Round Top on Saturday. It was great. The apples were nice and crispy and perfectly ripe! We had a great time. Here are some pictures from our time there!

Snuggle Bugs!

Josh and I have been playing round with Picasa. I have a feeling that I'm going to get hooked on altering my pictures. This program will come in handy during the swim suit season I feel. Haha! I will "air brush" all my flaws!

Kaylee is almost ready to start walking on her own. She will stand alone without holding on but then slowly lower herself back down to the ground. She has a total flower head like cousin Mia in this picture. It was kind of chilly at first so it acted as an ear warmer at the same time.

This was like our first actual trip that we put Kaylee in the backpack. We usually just take the stroller. Here she had a change of sunglasses. I forget why but we changed them. I think maybe this pair matched better or something. Haha! She's like my little dress up doll. Haha.

Any of you that know or have been around Kaylee recently know that her favorite word to say is "apple". She seriously can spot one of those things from forever away. As soon as she sees one she will say the word and keep repeating it. So you can imagine that this was a blast for her to see where apples come from and get to grab at them on the trees.

We were given a bag to fill for $7. We figured out for the amount of apples we got this was quite the deal. I just made an apple pie tonight that we will probably devour tomorrow. I'm not sure about other people but when I grew up and my mom made an apple pie we not only ate it for dessert but we always had a slice of pie for breakfast. I feel like not too many people eat pie for breakfast. Also, something similar is that we have blueberry muffins with supper sometimes as like the bread. I think we have this one backward too. We seriously never really ate blueberry muffins for breakfast. How about you? Do you have any weird things that you eat for the "wrong" meal?

Here is Kaylee reaching for the trees. It's a little blurry but I loved it.

Muscle Man Joshy Pie proudly showing off his delicious find.

An apple fit for a little princess. (It's not a poisonous one of course)
By the way, Kaylee loves to wear sunglasses and smiles everytime we put a pair on her. She had a blast at the park on Friday (I stayed home with her becuase she was a little under the weather) when she was wearing her sunglasses and swinging away. She kept pointing and yelling "dad" or "da da". I was afraid people might think I didn't have a baby daddy and she was trying to find one for herself. Haha! Silly girl! She did really enjoy watching all the older kids run around the park. Oh, what a life that would be to be able to do that with her everyday. Someday!!!!

There must have been many others there before us because a lot of the trees only had apples at the top.

No need to fear though with big tall daddy there! He can reach anything!

Here are the expecting parents. Due May 18th. Lydia and I are very similar with how we love a good hayride and apple picking and really anything country-esk. Notice the water bottle. I can remember those days of chugging down that water to keep my body and baby hydrated. Those days seem so far away. Hard to believe it has been just about a year. Makes me sad a little. I miss it!

On the Hay Ride to the pumpkin patch.

In the pumpkin Patch. We wanted to find two little ones (We didn't have much cash on us because we didn't really plan to do the pumpkin thing...but we will have to get some more tomorrow at the other pumpkin patch). I want to have Kaylee piant her own.

Kaylee is one squirmy worm. She wants to be down and crawling around. She doesn't care how dirty she gets. This child will seriously leap right out of my arms if I'm not careful!

Kay-bird with her two mini pumpkins.

I love this picture of Kaylee and her daddy. She has been so funny recently. No joke every day she becomes more fun and funny. She just started laughing when we laugh. She will scrunch up her nose and eyes and just giggle. It's almost a fake laugh. She just thinks she is supposed to be laughing at something if we are. I love it. She's such a little bird!

This was our time at the orchard and there will be more pumpkins and hayrides and all that fally stuff when I make another post tomorrow or some time this week if I have time. This is my big party planning/prep for Kaylee's 1st birthday. So hard to believe! I have a one-year-old. She's barely a baby anymore! Next thing I know I will be shopping for prom dresses with her!

I hope everyone is enjoying this rocken weather. Pray for a nice day this coming Saturday for Kaylee's birthday party!
P.S. I hope people don't mind so many pictures. I just love posting pics of my munchkin and I love seeing other peoples pics so please, please, please post more pictures! I love them! Hehe!

Oh, I am so with you on the weird things for meals. We will totally eat a piece of cake or pie for breakfast, muffins as the bread for meals...sometimes we make hash browns (those ones in the box beside the scalloped potatoes in the store haha) and have those for dinner. YUM!

There are no set times for anything in our house. Eggs for dinner is totally an option ;)

Looks like you guys had fun at the orchard. In 24 years, it's hard to believe, but I have never gone apple picking. Seth's family always does, so hopefully sometime I'll go!

Have a good day!

I love the pictures! It just makes me sad that we don't have an apple orchard or pumpkin patch around here! We just ate pancakes for lunch yesterday, and I sometimes like to make waffles for myself for dinner. Marlon often makes eggs and bacon at any time of day! See you Saturday!

Hi Kendy,
I love pie for breakfast! Especially apple! When my mom would make pie we'd eat it for breakfast more often than we did for dessert!

Great picture of Kaylee! Max also likes to lunge out of my arms.
