Okay... Below: I really liked a photo that my sister-in-law (Renee) took of my niece Mia. Soooo... I decided to take a similar picture of Kaylee. It's nowhere as nice as my sister-in-laws though! She is an amazing photographer!!!
Just before the picture above Kaylee was sitting reading every book from her nighttime book stash. Haha. Our little bookworm!
Every January, since I can remember I have gone to the Farm Show in Harrisburg. Every year there is always crazy weather and this year was no different. There was snow when we woke up and there was snow when we left but it is soooo worth the sometimes slippery drive. I have enjoyed going to the farm show for 3 things that I can think of... 1.Potato donuts (so amazing and when they say they are made with potatoes it kind of makes them sound healthy and therefore I can justify eating multiple donuts in one sitting...just trying to get my required daily vegetable servings in) 2.The crazy animals (wait until you see these pictures) and 3.THE RODEO!!!! The Rodeo of course is my first favorite. I love everything about Rodeos and I would travel in any weather to get to one. There is only one year that I recall not being able to go and I think it was because I was in school in Philly (you know, when I lived in the ghetto of North Philly for a month! Seriously).
Below are pictures from our time there! My favorite events are bare back and bull riding and it is amazing that there are 11 year old kids that ride the horses bare back! It is sooo dangerous and many times the bulls and horses almost took the kids riding into the shoot gates. Oh, I forgot to mention that it is a high school rodeo. Middle school kids are allowed to participate in a few of the events.
Anyway I have loved bull riding since I can remember. My sister Karie and I used to enjoy going to the rodeo when we were younger and we would sit down close to the bull pens and pick out which cowboy we wanted to be our boyfriend. Haha!
One year I went to Bull Ride Mania (professional bull riding rodeo in Harrisburg) and it was the best thing I have ever attended. If I had a choice between going to a concert of my favorite music artist and going to Bull Ride Mania, I would pick BRM. Maybe I can convince Josh to get that for me for Vday!!! Hehe! Some people want massages or fancy dinners... me?... I want to go watch some bull riding! Haha!
Below... the one type of clown that I can be around without getting too nervous or scared... but only from this far away! The clown in this picture is trying to stir up the bull so that he gives a better ride for the cowboy (at least that is how I understand it). If the bull just runs straight and around the arena, not going crazy in circles switching directions, then the cowboy does not get as good of a score. They have to stay on the full 8 seconds but they also get scored based on the way they ride and the ride that the bull gives. If it isn't difficult to ride then they won't get such a good score.
Above: I love this picture and how it is so blurry. You can't even see the bulls legs because he is spinning so fast (and the camera isn't focused so good). This was the last and biggest bull of the rodeo. I was nervous for this guy because the bull tried taking him back into the shoot he came out of which could seriously injure the cowboy. They are like crazy steel gates.
OHHHHH! I have a story... a couple years ago when I was at the rodeo... there were these 7ft wooden gates at the end of each side of the arena (at the time) and there was this bull that threw his rider off right away. Then the wranglers were trying to get the bull to go back into the pen. Wellllll... this bull was running around the arena like crazy and if I remember he was not nice at all to the clown. I think he had to actually use his barrel as a hide out. Then....
Next thing we know... the bull runs full force from one end of the arena to the next and HURDLES the 7ft gate. No joke. This at least one ton animal (maybe 2 ton) hurdled a 7ft gate. Everyone screamed because at that time at the Farm Show people were allowed to walk down in the hallway on the floor of the arena, where this bull just entered. It turned out that a kid (around age 10 or so) and some adults got trampled... nobody died or was too badly hurt.
Is that insane or what? I never in my life thought I would see an animal of that mass jump so high! Cool story though...right?
Have you ever seen an animal do something so weird??? Tell me your story!
Above: Kaylee Maelee and Me checking out this neat breed of cow!
Below: A buffalo. I was too nervous to get near because of the sign and then the lady opened the gate to give it water and I just had this crazy feeling that it wanted to charge out through the gate and get us. Maybe it was the story of that bull in the back of my mind...
When we were looking at the cute piglets Kaylee kept doing her fake laugh. I LOVE this laugh. Whenever Josh and I are laughing at something (usually adult stuff) Kaylee thinks she has to laugh too so she does her fake laugh.
I thought this chicken was amazing. It was so huge. There is a chicken in Etown (fake statue thing) that looks just like this!
Below: I really like this chicken... It reminds me of Haley Barry's one gown she wore to some award show or something... It just amazes me seeing these crazy cool different animals that God has given us to enjoy. So cool.
Below: Silly Carrot Daddy and the apples of his eye! Hehe!
Below: If Tina Turner had white hair and was a rooster. This rooster was an angry rooster. he kept cock-a-doodle-dooing and he looked crazy doing it!
Last picture... I was trying to finish a movie on the computer real quick from the night before while Kaylee played nicely on the floor. Apparently I didn't see this happen but I looked over at her and she was just sitting there with this hat on (I don't know where she got it from) and she even had it on cool and to the side and she was playing with her favorite household item/toy, our tea candles and their holder. She enjoys taking out the candles and then putting them back in upside down.
So, I quick grabbed my camera and then said her name and she looked up, saw the camera and said, "Cheeeese". You can kind of tell she is saying that in this picture. I just laughed! She is so funny these days!
The other morning she said "cheeeeese" for the firs time when I went to get her out of bed and she had her shirt on Tarzan style and then I took out my cell phone to take a picture to send to Josh at work, and when I held up my phone she said real loud and with a cheesy smile "Cheeeeeese". I laughed even harder then when I first saw her Tarzan fashion statement.
Spitting...
last story and then I need to get to bed it is almost midnight...
Sooo... this is gross but a lot of times in the morning I have to spit and I have to make a certain nasty sound before I spit. Soooo... Kaylee has heard this before and she has started to do the same sound like halking up something. So that was funny and cute at first. But... then I think it was two days ago I was getting ready in my bathroom and she was in there watching me and then suddenly I hear her make that halking sound but this time it was followed by a "pii, piii, pii" sound. She was trying to spit. On my bathroom floor. I had to correct the young lady and tell her she was not to spit on my bathroom floor.
Okay... a night terror is in progress... I must go... wish me luck!
